Erin Talati Paquette, MD, JD
Dr. Erin Talati Paquette is an attending physician at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Paquette’s current research involves studying the informed consent process for children participating in research and for parents making decisions for their children. Additional interests include the role for conflict resolution training to improve communication in the ICU and evaluating health care access in relation to health outcomes.

Objectives of the presentation are:

  • To explore ethical and regulatory considerations of research involving children
  • To identify barriers to participation of children in research
  • To discover how a health literacy framework may be utilized to improve the research consent process 

Attendance: This lecture is FREE and open to both SOCRA & non-SOCRA members
