OBJECTIVES: This video presentation aims to provide an overview of the NIH Clinical Center perspectives on the informed consent process:

  • Discussion allows for open forum to discuss the video and how it relates to your job and the research you may coordinate or manage.
  • Networking allows for Northeast Ohio SOCRA members to meet and discuss future CEU programs.


Dr. Christine Grady is chief of the Clinical Center's Department of Bioethics. Her research focuses on research subject recruitment, incentives, vulnerability, and international research ethics. Dr. Grady has written widely in books and scholarly journals on topics in bioethics, HIV disease, and nursing. Dr. Grady received a bachelor's degree in nursing and biology from Georgetown University, a master's degree in community health nursing from Boston College, and a doctoral degree in philosophy and bioethics from Georgetown University. She is a member of an institutional review board for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. She was formerly assistant director for clinical science at the National Institute of Nursing Research
