Membership
SoCRA membership is available to all clinical research professionals who work with
cooperative research groups, academic and private institutions, pharmaceutical and
biotechnology companies, device manufacturers, CROs, SMOs, independent research and
development organizations, and those who are involved in the management of clinical
trials.
If you work with clinical trials supporting the research institution or manufacturer of
a new drug, product, or treatment regimen, then you are a clinical research professional.
Whether called an investigator, monitor, auditor, data manager, clinical coordinator,
research nurse, or research professional - you are an integral part of the research team.
SoCRA's members work in ALL fields of research. A common bond exists among those
involved in all areas of the clinical research professional's responsibilities, such as;
dealing with informed consents, institutional review boards, medical ethics, and
regulatory issues. With changes occurring daily in the health-care field, we must all stay
abreast of the latest developments and practices which affect us. SoCRA is the national
organization with a mission for education and information exchange.
SoCRA has adopted an Ethics Statement for its members. As clinical research
professionals, we must recognize our responsibilities to follow ethical principles when
participating in clinical trials. Please sign the Ethics
Statement and submit it with your SoCRA membership
application.

SoCRA 2010 Election Results
President Elect - Jason Jones, MS, CCRP

The pressures on clinical researchers continue to increase in the areas of patient safety, compliance, regulations,
ethics, budget constraints, efficiency and quality. The time that I have served on the Board of Directors at SoCRA has helped me
understand the important priorities of our membership. If elected to serve as President of SoCRA, I commit to pursuing the continued
success of the Society as an internationally valued research resource that offers high educational value and member satisfaction.
Secretary - Alberta Yadack, BSN, MPH, CCRP

As the current secretary of SoCRA , I have contributed to the society by creating and documenting the activities
of the SoCRA Board. This is critical for the documentation and open environment SoCRA seeks to maintain. As secretary of SoCRA
and a Board Member, I hope to continue to support the efforts of SoCRA and develop educational opportunities for SoCRA members
and other professionals involved in research.
Director - Jody Green, PhD, CCRP

As a SoCRA Certified Clinical Research Professional who has worked in research for over a decade now, I have
gained considerable insight into sound research design as well as productive and compliant daily clinical trial operations. I began my
career as a research assistant and now co-manage a research department of over 60 staff members. Through first-hand experience,
continuing education, and collaboration, I have learned how to ensure clinical trial success through study design, investigator training,
case report form design and quality data management. Becoming a member of the SoCRA Board of Directors will allow me to
facilitate best practice discussions among members to flatten the learning curve for us all and to support SoCRA as it continues to lead
innovations that promote quality clinical research.
Director - Mark Krailo, PhD

I have been involved in the design, execution and analysis of clinical trials of childhood cancer for over 25
years. I recognize the critical role of all participants in the clinical research process. Ultimately, we are all working for the protection
of those who participate in clinical trials and the greater benefit of all those in the future that will be touched by the conditions we are
studying.
I see SoCRA as a key player in disseminating the best principles of trials design and management. I will work to continue to support this important educational role of the society. As a clinical trials investigator, I am interested in applying research methodology to investigating which methods yield the most reliable
data. In particular, I am interested in seeing the development of carefully designed evaluations of various methods of data collection
and aggregation.
Director - Ann Von Worley, RN, BSHS, CCRP

Since its inception, SoCRA has provided the clinical research community opportunities for education,
collegiality, and professional enrichment. As a new research coordinator, I discovered the value of SoCRA membership and have
enthusiastically encouraged other research professionals to take advantage of the many educational venues that SoCRA offers. These
are the tools that every research professional needs to advance personally and professionally. SoCRA is principally a volunteer
organization that relies on grass roots leadership. I will be honored to continue to contribute to the governance, oversight, and
strategic planning for SoCRA’s growth and ongoing commitment to excellence in clinical research.
Director - Nancy Wintering, LCSW, CCRP

I am deeply honored to be nominated to the SoCRA Board of Directors.
SoCRA has been instrumental in my professional growth and development; I am dedicated to support and promote SoCRA’s mission
to provide high quality education, training and professional certification. My experience has enabled me to appreciate the diversity and
complexity in research, whether working with pediatric patients and their families, conducting a treatment study for persons with addictions,
or in an Investigator-Initiated research study using diagnostic imaging. A sound understanding of Good Clinical Practice, protection of human
subjects, reliable standards of practice to obtain good quality data all forge our work with a common bond. This is a time of rapid growth and
expansion in the scope and complexity of clinical research. SoCRA is poised to continue to provide local and global leadership and strategic
vision to address the challenges of the future of research for the benefit of humankind. Building on my clinical and organizational skills, in
service to SoCRA, I will support the Officers and Directors to pursue the goals of the organization. As a Member of the Board of Directors, I
will strive to apply the best of my abilities to serve with honor and integrity. Thank you for your consideration of my candidacy.
