Responsibilities: This position advances clinical and translational research partnerships with our state-wide network of physicians at the college. The creation of new clinical research partnerships also advances university-wide research goals, such as FSU Health. This position is responsible for engaging with leadership across the college to accomplish strategic goals and set pathways for continued growth.
Responsible for continuing to build and maintain research partnerships throughout the FSU College of Medicine regional campuses across the state of Florida. Collaborates directly with research mentors and recruits new physician partners to expand the range of medical specialty research opportunities for students. These partnerships will require this position to travel to our regional campuses regularly. Due to the high number of clinical partners across the state, this position will help coordinate efforts to streamline and integrate the research processes for medical students conducting research with faculty in both hospital and ambulatory settings during their clinical years. Develops, plans and implements programmatic goals and objectives to create and expand research. Provides guidance to students regarding research opportunities, developing relationships with faculty mentors, understanding and interpreting policies and procedures, and research approval processes (to include IRB compliance). Coordinates with the Assistant Dean to meet the research compliance expectations of participating institutions (i.e. Sarasota Memorial, Orlando Heath, Advent Health). Assists students with required trainings to prepare for engagement in research. Serves as research liaison for Regional Deans and clinical teaching sites. Supports the Assistant Dean in coordinating, planning, evaluation, and implementation of all new research education initiatives. Analyzes and prepares various reports, including those needed to meet the expectations of the college’s accrediting body (LCME). Duties of this position necessitate traveling to the field offices in Orlando, Daytona, Ft. Pierce, Pensacola, and Sarasota with the main location being in Tallahassee, FL.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience in a related science or research services field; or a school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to ten years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire. Ability to travel in the state on a regular basis.
Preferred:
Master’s degree preferred.
