Title: Director of Clinical Research Support

The Director of Clinical Research Support provides leadership and oversight for clinical research support functions in the Medical School.

Lead and Manage the clinical research at the Medical School - develop tool to determine feasibility, metrics and support users within the Joint Clinical Enterprise.

Program Development and Implementation: Advise leaderson strategic and operational clinical research issues and opportunities. Develop and implement Dean’s office level-programs and initiatives to support clinical research activities within the Medical School.

Collaborations: Develop and sustain effective collaborations and develop strategic plans with Medical School departments and divisions, CTSI, MCC, HST RDS, Fairview Research Administration, University of Minnesota Physicians, and OVPR to advance the research mission of the Medical School. Collaborate with Health Science Technologies (HST) to develop, implement, and maintain various tools/systems to support the Medical School research enterprise and provide leadership with real-time reporting to monitor research activity at both the school and the department/division level.


Communications and Outreach: Ensure proper communication plans and mechanisms are in place regarding technology tools developed and implemented, share key information with Medical School department chairs and key department research staff and build and manage day-to-day relationships with department/division research manager/directors.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Requires a BA/BS with at least 10 years of experience or an advanced degree with 8 years of experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience an academic health setting, with a majority of the years’ experience in academic clinical research.
  • Direct supervision of professional level positions and the responsibility for hiring, directing work, performance appraisals, discipline, salary increases, and termination.
  • Experiencing developing and implementing research programs and infrastructure, including developing and operationalizing a program from concept.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing large, complex, multi-faceted projects at a department or collegiate level from concept through implementation.
  • Experience serving as the business owner for a technology solution.
