Submit an Article for Publication

Submit an Article - Permission to Publish - Regulatory, Scientific and Technical Articles

We invite submissions of articles that are regulatory, scientific, or technical in nature. To ensure high-quality content, all articles must meet the following guidelines:

  1. Word Count: Articles should be a minimum of 2,000 words to be considered for publication.

  2. Content: Articles promoting software, services, or other products will not be accepted and will be considered advertising.

  3. Grammar and Spelling: Articles containing grammar or spelling errors will be returned to the author for revision before they can proceed in the review process.

  4. Submission Format:

    • Articles must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
    • Include a short abstract summarizing the key points of the article.
    • Do not use any special formatting (no headers, footers, page numbers, or unique margins).
    • Tables should be placed at the end of the article in numerical order and referenced in the text where appropriate.
    • Pictures or other images should be submitted separately in high-resolution formats (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF), with clear indications of where they should appear in the article.
  5. References: All references should be formatted as endnotes and listed at the end of the article. Ensure that all in-text citations are numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the article and correspond to the numbered endnotes. Use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, AMA, or Chicago), and ensure accuracy in both the in-text numbering and the endnote references.

  6. Terminology: Please use appropriate and precise terminology as outlined in FDA regulations. For example, terms such as "Clinical Investigator" should be used consistently where applicable. As the journal serves as an educational and training tool, accuracy in language is essential to maintain compliance and clarity for readers.
  7. Permissions: Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any copyrighted material, including images, charts, or extensive text excerpts. Proof of permissions must be included with the submission.

  8. Author Information: Please include a headshot with your submission, or state that you have one on file with SOCRA.  Please be sure to include relevant professional credentials and affiliations.

  9. Editorial Review: All submissions will undergo a formal editing process. The editorial team has your permission to make minor edits for clarity and style.

By submitting this form, I certify that my submitted or transcribed article is an original work and has no prior ownership or copyright restrictions. I certify that the article is not previously copyrighted. I give SOCRA authority to reproduce and publish my article. If any other individual or organization asks for or receives copyright privileges for this work, I will promptly notify SOCRA. I shall hold SOCRA harmless from any breach of this warranty.
