The purpose of the SOCRA chapter program is to provide a cost free forum under which members can learn, exchange information, grow professionally in clinical research, acquire CE for SOCRA CCRP re-certification, and build strong foundations for successful clinical research outcomes, all at no-cost.
A SOCRA chapter’s membership consists of current members of SOCRA who are located within a specific geographic area defined by the local chapter. The chapter’s “active” membership will then consist of those who are interested in developing and participating in continuing education programs to assist the membership in securing CE related to the regulations and guidelines that govern clinical research. These educational endeavors are designed to provide valuable insights to clinical research professionals and anyone else with an interest in the field. Whether you are a SOCRA member or not, all are welcome to participate.
Interested members may contact the SOCRA office for information regarding the chapter program. Chapter Chairs are volunteers who are interested in facilitating peer to peer education and networking opportunities.
SOCRA chapters are designed to help SOCRA members obtain CE towards Recertification at no cost. For that reason, we ask that the chapter chair person (or a member of the educational committee) be CCRP certified so that they can help answer questions from members or perspective members about SOCRA and the exam process. There are no dues or fees.
As a chapter chair, your primary responsibilities include arranging for a speaker, securing a meeting venue, and providing SOCRA with event details for review and distribution to your specified geographic area.
SOCRA annually recognizes the chapter chairperson from the chapter granting the greatest amount of learning opportunity for approved continuing credit education hours. The SOCRA New York State Chapter, was the 2024 recipient of the Chapter Special Recognition Award.
