Dear Colleague:

The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), a charitable not-for-profit clinical research membership organization, was organized to protect human research subjects and improve global health by providing education programs, certification, and a forum for research professionals to exchange information.

Our vision statement was updated in 2020 to reflect our vision for clinical research. Our vision for the future is that all clinical research fully protects every research participant and is accomplished with excellence, quality, and professionalism.

SOCRA was originally created to help clinical research site-based personnel to accomplish our mission, yet our membership has grown to include monitors, project managers, quality assurance staff, and regulatory representatives from industry, academia, research centers, NIH and regulatory agencies. Our mission extends to provide a forum in which our members can learn and exchange information to grow professionally in clinical research and to build strong foundations for successful clinical research outcomes. We encourage professionals working in clinical research to collectively support each other and participate in our education programs.

The Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) Certification program is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE).

SOCRA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™) and is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). In addition to CNE and CME, all of our courses and conferences offer SOCRA CE to members.

We are open to suggestions and welcome participation by our members. My door is always open, and I invite anyone who is interested in joining or expanding his or her participation in the Society to contact me through the SOCRA office.
