Speaker: Meredith Nahm Zozus, Ph.D., FACMI
Meredith started her career at Duke University serving as the director for the data center at the Duke Clinical Research Institute for 18 years. Her research career has focused on data quality in health care and health-related research including collection and management of data for clinical studies, and assessment and use of EHR data in clinical studies. In 2019, she joined UTHSA to lead clinical research informatics work to bring interoperability, automation, and decision support to research information systems and clinical study teams and pursue Clinical Translational Science (CTS) advancing informatics methods for the design, conduct and reporting of clinical studies. She is the PI of the AnCilliary Studies to Evaluate Real-World Data Quality (ACE-RWD Program) assessing FHIR® data from EHRs for use in clinical studies and lead the Health Informatics aims for the UTHSA CTSA. Her talk is about, “Tools you may already have that can help recruitment."

Learning Objectives:
  1. Evaluate evidence-based recruitment interventions by reviewing strategies used to improve clinical trial enrollment and assessing the strength of the evidence supporting their effectiveness.
  2. Analyze factors that influence recruitment performance, including study design, site operations, participant demographics, communication approaches, and external barriers to participation.
  3. Apply recruitment optimization strategies by identifying appropriate interventions for specific trial settings and developing plans to enhance participant enrollment and retention.

    CE:
     SOCRA members may claim one CE credit for each hour of educational programming attended. In accordance with SOCRA accreditation standards, members must attend a minimum of 50 minutes of a one-hour session to qualify for 1 CEU. CE certificates are generally distributed within 10 business days following the event.
