Description: The single IRB process is comprised of federal guidance and institution-specific procedures. Understanding the differences between standard review and single IRB review will allow the local study team to prepare for an efficient review process, incorporating a clear communication plan designed to sustain the project through completion.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Overview of the purpose of single IRB review process
  2. Understanding of the responsibilities of the PI/Coordinator when relying on the review of an external IRB
  3. Understanding of benefits of a communication plan
