SOCRA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter

"Operationalization of Research Protocols in Emergency Response Environments"

Date: August 11, 2022
Time: 12:00-1:00PM (Pacific Time)

Location: Virtual Attendance only

Speaker: Kevin Barrett, RN
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)

Background:
Threats to data integrity are numerous, universal and transcend location and technological capabilities. Every attempt to find solutions to a public health emergency while in the middle of that emergency, builds on the data and experiences from the previous one. The foundation for successful clinical implementation is built on solid laboratory data, regardless of the pathogen.

Objectives:

  • Describe how to operationalize a protocol in the context of emergency response environments
  • Present case studies from EBOLA and COVID-19 trials
  • Describe foundation for successful clinical implementation using solid laboratory data
