Tina Burrows, MHA, works as a Clinical Trials Navigator for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (OCOE). Tina received her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington. Having dedicated more than ten years at Fred Hutch, Tina brings clinical experience and expertise working with local non-profits and diverse populations to help eliminate barriers to clinical trials by addressing health-related social needs. During this presentation, attendees will learn how clinical trial navigation improves cancer health outcomes and helps patients undergoing treatment feel supported, informed, and empowered.
During this presentation, you will learn current information about health literacy, the key types of information people want to learn during visits with clinician, and strategies to communicate clearly with patients.
